2021 Residential Appraisal Notices were mailed April 1st. The deadline to protest your property appraisal is May 17th. Commercial and Business Personal Property notices are scheduled to be mailed May 3rd (protest deadline 30 days from notice date). You may submit an appeal by mail, email, in-person, or online (https://eprotest.vzcad.org/). As always, please call our office if you have any questions or if you do not receive a notice.

Within this site you will find general information about the District and the ad valorem property tax system in Texas, as well as information regarding specific properties within the district. Van Zandt County Appraisal District is responsible for appraising all real and business personal property within Van Zandt County. The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).
The District strictly adheres to the Texas Property Tax Code to provide equality and accurate assessments for its constituents and tax base. Van Zandt County Appraisal District is responsible for the fair market appraisal of properties within each of the following taxing entities. Additional responsibilities include serving as the consolidated Property Tax Assessment and Collection office for Van Zandt County and the majority of entities within the District’s jurisdiction.
